HOUSTON (June 1, 2009) - Since the April 2009 opening of the Frenchy's Chicken restaurant located at 4705 FM 1960 Rd. West, Houston, TX 77069, the location has experienced record sustained customer traffic for the brand. The seventh restaurant operated by GlennLock Foods, Ltd., the exclusive licensees of the Frenchy's brand and a 3131 Properties, Ltd. subsidiary, the 1960 location is the company's second fast-casual restaurant model.
"The fast-casual model offers our customers family friendly dining combined with the speed of fast food at affordable prices even for large families," said GlennLock Foods Chief Operating Officer Reginald Coachman. "We are pioneering a fast-casual model in the industry that includes a drive-thru, a quick-serve restaurant, and a family and entertainment culture. So far, it's working for us."
Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and several community leaders participated in the 1960 location ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 3, 2009. Commenting about the new Frenchy's opening in the Houston community Congresswoman Jackson Lee said, 'I am pleased to announce that companies are still opening establishments in the Houston community despite the dire economic times that face America. Despite record high unemployment, the dissolution of the credit markets, and closing of existing businesses, companies like 3131 Properties, Ltd., are still breaking though the economic barriers and creating jobs for Houstonians. As a Representative of the 18th Congressional District, I applaud the opening of Frenchy's in Houston and welcome the job creation that will result. The local Houston economy can surely benefit from the stimulus," stated Congresswoman Jackson Lee.
